ABOUT US

Founder, Karl Erickson, grew up on his grandparent's small grass airfield in rural upstate New York. After learning to fly, his boyhood dream became a reality when he started spending all his free time at Cole Palen's Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome and eventually flying the very early pioneer aeroplanes during weekend airshows.

Making many friends along the way in his involvement with living air museums and restoration shops, he found his way to Maine in 2001 to become the Aircraft Conservator at the Owls Head Transportation Museum. Working with many volunteers maintaining, restoring and flying a landmark collection of historic aeroplanes, he has expanded his full-time work to branch off and start his own nonprofit.

With the help of generous donors and the guidance of his board members, he is excited to begin this new journey of allowing children and families to enjoy hands-on adventures with antique aeroplanes and ground vehicles in the hopes of leaving impressions they take away and enjoy for a lifetime.
